To launch the OnePlus 5T flagship phone for  Amazon Exclusive, a microsite was created that gave users first-hand experience of the phone. But it was no mere microsite.Unboxing of phones by celebrities was at the time a trend every popular smartphone brand leveraged. This was however, not bringing the brand closer to consumers. It was a gimmick that was soon losing credibility. For OnePlus 5T, a different approach was taken.

Users could take the phone out of the box, experience the phone, and even look at the in-box accessories. The idea won a Bronze at the Goafest Creative Abby Awards - Goa, India in 2018. The virtual unboxing was a huge success so much so that multiple other smartphone brands like Realme, Redmi, Nokia and Samsung started to create such unboxing microsites of their own. Soon after this, we took one step further and created a similar microsite for the next OnePlus phone, OnePlus 6, but this time, in 3D. Now the user could play games, look at photographs and videos on the virtual phone screen for a more immersive experience.
